This should answer the question about how to cover transitional panel shapes on an aircraft. In this reply to a readers inquiry we have covered all possibilities I can imagine applicable to covering compound convex or concave shapes on  flat or curved surfaces.

Without sufficient documentation it is virtually impossible to accurately model a scale aircraft. Before beginning  to cover a project, gather photos and documentation so you can accurately do so.
