My 1/4 scale Buffalo came in at 49 pounds, this is with a prodigious amount of scale detailing. I am using a 3W150 twin spark turning a Mejzlik 30-10 two bladed prop. Sierra Precision's landing gear is fabulous with scale details. The CG was about ¼ inch back from location indicated on the plan set.

Flying characteristics are excellent. She got light on the takeoff run very early! This meant I had to hold it down for a little while before it rotated itself. As expected, I needed a little right rudder on take off. In the air, no trim was necessary and there is no tendency to power climb.

Maneuverability is excellent requiring only a little more input than a 1/5 scale Corsair. There are slight losses of altitiude in turns requiring a little power. This is of course scale :^) Given the engine, we never exceeded 60 percent throttle and still performed split S’s, Immelmans, etc. At full power I'd suspect this plane would go vertical forever.

Ailerons are very effective, the final setting was around 2 cm up with 25 percent differential. During the approach a little right rudder was necessary as the Buffalo began slowing down. Flaps were set at 45 degrees for landing. The Buffalo went into a slight nose down attitude requiring 3 clicks of up elevator when flaps were deployed. Elevator/Flap differential immediately corrects this. Application of flap and landing gear slowed the Buffalo down more than I expected. This lead to an unexpected rapid sink rate requiring throttle to compensate.
